Implants
Dental Implants
Implants are artificial roots that support fixed or removable prostheses. Implants integrate with the bone. The pre-implant consultation is used to determine the indication, following rigorous analysis of the clinical and radiographic situation. A patient is more than just an implant. The treatment plan must therefore be comprehensive. It often involves close communication with the practitioners involved in the patient's care. The consultation of course serves to inform the patient about the treatment steps, but also about risk factors related to their medical/dental condition, among others. These risk factors have a scientifically proven impact on the implant prognosis.
The placement of one or more implant(s) has so-called "simple" post-operative sequelae (silent/mild discomfort)Treatment steps are generally:
- - Diagnosis and treatment plan
- - Surgical placement of the implant
- - Healing
- - Placement of the prosthesis by the patient's dentist.
- - Implant maintenance
The number, position, choice of implants or choice of surgical protocol depend on the treatment plan. The placement of one or more implant(s), like bone graft procedures, is performed under local anaesthesia. -
Bone Regeneration
Bone Regeneration
Bone regeneration techniques may be indicated per se, or as part of the implant treatment plan. These techniques aim to correct a bone or gum deficit that would compromise the placement or long-term success of implants.
